TOURNAMENT DETAILS:

We especially encourage the participation of cyclists of all ages,
fitness levels and, levels of disability. ( If you have a special
disability that may have to be accomodated - please let us know in
advance)
STATIC EVALUATION
Each participant will be evaluated on various items such as daytime
visibility, nighttime visibility, bad weather protection for rider and
loads, locks, tools for repair, etc. Participants are encouraged to
bring any items that may be appropriate for enhancing urban cycling,
and load carrying in a range of conditions.
WRITTEN EVALUATION
Each participant will do a written test about bicycle safety and
legality. It will be based on Cycling Skills ( pamphlet) which can be
obtained at: 1-800-373-5099 OR

PRACTICAL EVALUATION:
COURSE LAYOUT:
-150ft x 250ft
- roads are about 15 ft wide
- there will be 9 stop signs
- there is a set of roads on the outside and one middle road ( figure
8)
- stores and drop points will be scattered throughout
- there will be ?hazards? on the course
POSSIBLE STORES / DROP POINTS:
- grocery store ( eggs, flowers,bag of soil,watermelon,laundry
detergent, 2l pop, etc)
- hardware store ( 3 (2x4x8 Ft.) lumber, light bulbs, pails,bag of
cement ,square tubs , etc)
- department store (beachball, plastic child's toy, food items,
flower pots with plants, kitty litter, large container, etc)
- mailbox
- used clothing store ( various clothes, etc)
- library ( books, magazines, etc)
- home

POSSIBLE TIMING:( ten minutes)
Each participant will leave from the lower right corner of the course,
and circle the route exterior counterclockwise, one lap. The next lap
will be a figure 8 clockwise. The stores/stops will be marked and
followed alphabetically. There will be items at each location with
clearly marked points values, ascending with the fragility, weight,
size and difficulty of the item. The points valued for the items will
be added at ?home?. The course will also have points values accessed
for safe and legal cycling ( proper stops, hand signals, and
avoiding hazards, ( glass, parked cars, etc).
